Bite my shiny metal substrate

I got hold of Futurama's final season on DVD yesterday. In my opinion Season 4 is the best of the bunch. If you were to graph the quality of the show I think you'd see a steady ascent, with no obvious point to label "shark".

And, in a way, I'm glad it ended on a high-note. As with the tragic early death of a firebrand stand-up, there's little chance of an embarrassing decline. I'll never have to say "Well, I actually liked the early stuff".

So, with marathon effort, I've just watched all 18 episodes, then all the deleted scenes, then the 18 episodes again (this time with commentary), then the animatics (and got oddly excited by what looked like an Amiga GUI during the pencil tests), etc.

Finally, I came across a page of text in the alien alphabet from the show. I assume that this is the promised "Easter Egg"? (Yes, Easter Eggs are advertised on DVD packaging these days. No, I don't think this belies the point somewhat...)

Who knows what a manual transliteration would reveal? A hilarious joke? Instructions on finding the real easter egg? Some "personal" message, mocking me by making gross assumptions about my social life?

Pfft, I'd like to think I have better things to do with my time.
