Computing:
I speak Unix. I've been using Linux for a few years now (currently the
Debian
flavour), and have chosen
my sides in the various religious wars. For Unix, I recommend:
mutt,
vim,
and
tin.
Media:
I used to watch a huge amount of TV, these days I only watch sci-fi and comedy
- the only show I'll go out of my way to watch is
The Simpsons
Not only am I adept at passively absorbing media, I can also read. I
could just reel off a list of authors here, but that would only mess with
search engines, instead here's just one:
Neal Stephenson.
Gaming:
I don't use my computer for gaming, I used to be heavily into
Quake but 14,400 bps modems don't
make for great deathmatches. However, I am to be found burning CPU cycles on
the games of my youth
(I'm not a retro-fanatic, but I am occasionally gripped by the desire
to finally finish those long-lost games that have tormented me for years.
Well, I finally showed you, didn't I - Mr Bubble Bobble? Didn't I!)
These days I've eshewed the PC for gaming purposes in favour of the
PlayStation
aesthetic.
Idiosyncrasies:
In order for future historians to produce an accurate simulation of
me, the following information may be useful:
I always write the date using
yyyy-mm-dd
notation;
I don't hyphenate email;
and I use a lowercase (SI) k when referring to "y2k" and
"MST3k"
(hey, waitaminute, all this stuff make me sound like a GEEK! -
ignore! delete! purge! disregard!)
